Appointment and Fees

You may contact us by email, schedule an appointment online, or call to schedule an appointment.

Individuals, couples, families and groups are seen at our offices at 521 Nottinghill Rd Unit 2 or at 286 Central Ave. in London, Ontario. Most appointments are 90 minutes in length. Fees for psychotherapy services are determined by a sliding scale based on your gross household income. For clients who require confidential assistance via email or phone contact in between sessions, time is billed at the same rate as personal appointments. Special arrangements can be made to accommodate unique circumstances, however travel time and transportation costs will apply.

Psychotherapy fees are payable at the time of each appointment, unless sessions have been prepaid. Payments for psychotherapy services can be made by cash, cheque, e-transfer, credit card or Paypal. Advanced/prepaid payment for face to face or distance psychotherapy sessions is also welcome. Receipts for psychotherapy services are issued at the end of each session. Refunds will be issued when requested, for pre-paid sessions that are not utilized. Refunds may also be issued as negotiated with Patricia Berendsen & Associates.

Benefit Coverage

Many Employee Assistance Programs and Extended Health Care Insurance packages will cover psychotherapy. Ask your Human Resource Department or your insurance company if the services of a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist or a Registered Social Worker, or a Registered Psychologist are covered. You can request to have this type of coverage when your company is negotiating their benefit package. Psychotherapy fees are income tax deductible as a medical expense. They can also be applied as a business expense for people who own their own business.

Cancellation Policy

The courtesy of 48 hours notice is appreciated if you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, otherwise a cancellation/missed appointment fee will be applied. Missed appointment fees must be paid prior to the next scheduled appointment.
