Jillian Auger

RP(Q)

Jillian is a graduate of Western University’s Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program, she is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and has experience working with a variety of populations. She operates with the belief that each person’s behaviour is coming from a place of wanting safety and to feel belonging. Both healing and growth are possible when there is a sense of safety, community, and feeling seen.  Jillian is an advocate for harm-reduction and works to help support clients with their goals.  She also works from an anti-oppressive, trauma- and violence-informed, and feminist lens.  She pulls from Narrative, Relational-Cultural, and Family Systems theory, while incorporating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in order to offer support that meets the client where they are, and in a style that most suits them. Jillian is also incorporating body-mind connection from Somatic Experiencing as she currently works through the training.

Jillian spent her full-time internship working with survivors of sexual assault, and has a passion for working with survivors of trauma in any of it’s forms. She firmly supports people in navigating their relationship with their past and their coping strategies, while acknowledging that there isn’t always a neat explanation that connects all the dots. She is 2SLGBTQIA+ friendly and inclusive, and seeks to be gender affirming in practice. She has experience supporting clients with their exploration of gender, sexuality, self-expression, and identity. Jillian has also worked with teens, children, and families on a crisis line working to support safety in some of their most stressful moments. She holds compassion for people who are navigating turbulent moments in their lives or the lives of those they love. She wants to hold space for expressing the emotions that come with these experiences, and work collaboratively to find a plan that meets their needs. Healing is deeply personal and something that each person can access.

You can always come home to yourself”
